Noosa has so many outdoor activities on offer and is surrounded by some fabulous National parks, with great mountains, adventurous hikes, and incredible views as a reward from the top.
Mount Tinbeerwah
Just inland from Noosa in the Tewantin National Park, Mount Tinbeerwah is 265m high. At around a 500m return trip from the car park, the hike is considered one of the easiest on the coast and is a great hike to bring a picnic basket along too. With magnificent views over Noosa as well as the hinterland. Mount Tinbeerwah is accessible by Wheelchair from the carpark.
Mount Coolum
Second to Ayres Rock, Mount Coolum is the world’s second largest rock. Located in the suburb of Mount Coolum, which is 30 minutes south of Noosa. At 208m above sea level, Mount Coolum is considered a beginner to intermediate climb by locals and will take around an hour to reach the top. With several stopping points you will be able to enjoy the surrounding environment and views.
Mount Cooroora
Mount Cooroora sits in the middle of the hinterland town of Pomona, about 25 minutes North from Noosa. Mount Cooroora is one of the taller mountains on the coast at 439 metres. To get to the top requires a reasonably high level of fitness. There are a number of other trails for less experienced hikers. Those who do make it to the summit will be in awe of stunning coastal and hinterland views.
Mount Tibrogargan
Mount Tibrogargan is the most easily indefinable mountain on the coast, with its striking resemblance to a gorilla or old man hunched over. Mount Tibrogargan can be easily seen from the Highway from Brisbane, and is located in the Glass House Mountains National Park, Beerwah. Approximately 1hr 15 minutes south of Noosa Heads. Tibrogargan is the second steepest of the Glass House Mountains and is quite high at 364m above sea level. There is a 3.3 km track and a 6 km track. Please choose the hike best suited to your ability level.
Mount Beerwah
Mount Beerwah is the highest in the Glass House Mountains range. Located in the Beerburrum West State Forest, about 1 ½ hour south of Noosa. There is a steep climb/scramble before a moderate climb to the top. Once again, some amazing views from the top. This is a challenging mountain to climb.
