Combining 1950s modernist architecture with modern resort-style luxe the design focuses on seamlessly blending the house with its natural lush surroundings. The result is a very private and luxurious sanctuary that is a beautiful oasis of calm. The monochromatic palette used throughout might be stark in any other setting, but here it just works and is a stunning example of why less is more.
The colours of the beautifully manicured green lawns and the sparkling pool beyond are subtlely reflected in the interior furnishings, helping to create a feeling of flowing transparency between inside and out. The expansive white terrazzo flooring and completely flat roof create the illusion that the house is simply floating on air.
Great care has been taken to ensure that nothing detracts from the expansive views. Fully retractable stacking glass doors on both sides of the house can be pushed back to completely open up the main living area to the outside. Enjoy stunning sunrises, sunsets and clear starry nights, unimpeded by light pollution, from one of the many comfortable seating areas around the property.
The Doonan Glasshouse sleeps up to 8 guests across 4 bedrooms. The master retreat with Queen bed offers the same lush but private views over the landscape. An award-winning and spacious ensuite with deep bath and separate rain shower can be accessed from either side of the room. The room leads out onto the concrete terrace that continues around the house.
And if relaxing baths are a favourite past-time you can enjoy one under the stars, in the outdoor bath, or shower, accessed from the master retreat’s ensuite. This zen-like space is completely private and not overlooked by other properties.
Bedrooms 2 and 3 are identical and feature Queen beds and lovely window seats that catch the afternoon sun. Both have ensuites with showers. The 4th bedroom also has a Queen bed and is adjacent to a 4th bathroom with walk-in shower. All rooms have ceiling fans and are air-conditioned.
There are two indoor lounge areas. One with large SmartTV and thermostatically controlled gas fire, the other with an additional TV and large lounge suite.
An additional outdoor but covered lounge area overlooks the garden and pool while an outdoor kitchen provides a secondary cooking area, with BBQ, Wok burner and wine fridge.
The focus of the main living area is uncharacteristically but intentionally on the kitchen, encouraging guests to come together to enjoy lazy breakfasts, long lunches and early sundowners. Generously sized black and white kitchen benches provide ample space for food preparation and entertaining.
A separate butlers pantry contains all the appliances you could wish for, a range of pantry items, and a second fridge and sink area. This clever design helps to remove clutter from the main kitchen area, in keeping with this home’s minimalist personality.
The 17m long swimming pool with shallow “beach” end takes pride of place in the middle of the rolling lawns, and is perfect for relaxing on the floating beanbags. A pool-side cabana has a 2nd BBQ and lounge seating, or relax in the hammock between the coconut palms. There is also a cosy fire pit area, perfect for the cooler winter evenings.

A $1,500 bond is required 30 days before arrival. This will be refunded within 14 days of departure.
Please note that due to the open-plan structure and the nature of the furnishings in this property it is not suitable for very young children. Please check when enquiring.
Please note that the wide expanses of full height glass do allow some view from the road to the kitchen and living areas (hence the name), however, the bedrooms and pool area are totally private and are not overlooked.
