Known to locals as Tewantin National Park, located in Tewantin
Tewantin National Park is located 2km west of Tewantin and 10km from Noosa along the Cooroy-Noosa Road. Rainforest, open eucalypt forest and remnants of wallum heath between Noosa and Cooroy are protected in this hilly sub-tropical forest. Mount Tinbeerwah (265m above sea level) is a volcanic plug remaining from volcanic activity millions of years ago. This area is home to the endangered swamp stringybark (Eucalyptus conglomerata) which is a multi-trunked tree with grey, fibrous bark and clusters of creamy white flowers.
Within Tewantin National Park is the Wooroi Day Use area from where you can access a great network of shared trails, including some of the best mountain biking tracks on the Sunshine Coast.
